About this site
Boatwork Review Index is an independent, third-party index of customer ratings for MarineMax, Inc.dealerships. This page sets out who runs it, where the data comes from, and how to have something corrected or removed.
Who runs this site
This site is published by Boatwork, an independent guide to marine dealers, marinas and service providers in the United States. Boatwork operates a directory of marine businesses and publishes editorial analysis of the sector.
Operator. Boatwork is a trading name of Yacht Supply, LLC, of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Written enquiries about this site, including the corrections process below, reach us at hello@boatwork.co.
Boatwork has no commercial relationship with MarineMax, Inc. This site carries no MarineMax advertising, receives no payment from MarineMax or its dealerships, and earns no commission on anything a MarineMax dealership sells.
Independence
Independent review aggregator. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by MarineMax, Inc. Reviews are aggregated from public Google listings and belong to their authors.
What this site does
It aggregates publicly available Google ratings and review excerpts for MarineMax-branded dealership locations, presents them per location, and adds a short editorial summary of the recurring themes. Its purpose is to let a prospective buyer compare dealerships, because customer experience at this brand varies considerably between individual stores.
Where the data comes from
Dealership list, ratings and review counts. Aggregated from public Google listings, retrieved through SerpApi, an independent provider of public search results. This is not a live feed and not a licensed Google data product: Google neither supplies, sponsors nor reviews this site. Nor is any of it taken from marinemax.com, beyond the company facts cited below. A location is included here if its public listing name contains “MarineMax” and it carries a public rating.
Review excerpts.Aggregated from the same provider’s public Google reviews results. Each review remains the copyright of its author, so we show a short excerpt only — capped at 140 characters — attributed to the reviewer name shown publicly on Google, with a link back to the full review on Google Maps. We do not republish full review text, and we do not alter the wording of what we quote.
Editorial summaries. The blocks labelled “Summary by Boatwork” are generated by a language model (Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5, via the Vercel AI Gateway) working only from the review text retrieved above. They are instructed to quote verbatim fragments and not to invent concerns for balance. They are our characterisation of the review corpus, not a statement by any reviewer or by MarineMax.
Company facts. Sourced from Wikipedia and marinemax.com.
Refresh cadence. All of the above is re-aggregated daily. Nothing here is live: what you are reading was captured at the last refresh and can lag Google by up to 24 hours.
Trademarks
MarineMax and all associated names and marks are trademarks of MarineMax, Inc. (NYSE: HZO). They are used on this site only to identify the company and the dealerships whose public reviews are indexed here — the minimum necessary to say what the site is about. This site reproduces no MarineMax logo, wordmark, brand colours, photography or other trade dress, and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
Corrections
Everything here comes from public sources and is meant to be accurate. Where it is wrong, it gets fixed — promptly and without argument. Write to hello@boatwork.co with the page and the specific statement at issue.
What we will not do is remove accurate information because its subject would rather it were not published. The ratings are Google’s, the review text belongs to the customers who wrote it, and the analysis is ours. Reporting what customers have publicly said about a public company does not require that company’s permission.
If you represent MarineMax, Inc. or one of its dealerships. Point to a specific factual error — a wrong address, a misattributed location, a misquoted review — and it will be corrected. A general objection to being written about is not a correction and will not be treated as one.
About the editorial summaries. The blocks labelled “Summary by Boatwork” are our own reading of the reviews shown beneath them, quoting those reviews directly. They are opinion, and labelled as such. A summary that misquotes a review or gets a fact wrong will be corrected. A summary is not withdrawn for being unflattering.
If you wrote a review shown here.Your words are your own. Send the page and the excerpt and we will stop quoting you, no reason required. That is about your copyright in what you wrote, not a judgement about the review — and it is the one thing on this page we will take down on request. It stays on Google either way; for that, use Google’s own controls.
If a rating looks wrong. Ratings are aggregated from public Google listings and are not editable here. If what you see does not match the current rating on Google after 24 hours, that is a bug — please report it.
